Profitbase Installation Manager v1.3.1.0

A new version of the Profitbase Installation Manager has been released.

Noteable changes:
– Support for InVision 2.4
– Fixed bug that caused a crash when uninstalling and then reinstalling InVision again, then selecting status.
– Better logging behind the scenes.

Anyone whos online should see a message box show up about updating to the latest version. Anyone whos offline needs to grab the new version from pbsndfile.

Please note that you NEVER uninstall Profitbase Installation Manager when updating to a newer version.

Notable changes:

  • Self-update – If you’re connected to the internet the installer will prompt you to install the latest version if there is a newer version available.
  • Offline support – There is now an option to install while on an offline server. However, you should always make sure that you’re running the latest version before installing or upgrading to a new version of Profitbase InVision.

 

Cisco VPN & Windows 8 – Unable to enable virtual adapter

Open Registry editor by typingregedit in Run prompt
· Browse to the Registry Key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CVirtA
· Select the DisplayName to modify, and remove the leading characters from the value data upto “%;” i.e.
– For x86, change the value data from something like “@oem8.inf,%CVirtA_Desc%;Cisco Systems VPN Adapter” to “Cisco Systems VPN Adapter”
– For x64, change the value data from something like “@oem8.inf,%CVirtA_Desc%;Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows” to “Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows”
· Try connecting again

Activate Windows 8 Enterprise

Option 1: Command line

Start a command prompt as an administrator

First run
slmgr.vbs -ipk YOUR-PRODUCT-KEY-HERE

Then run
slmgr.vbs -ato

Option 2: GUI

Start a command prompt as an administrator

Run the following command
slui.exe 3

Type in the product key and click the Activate button.
